“Critical interpretation is about interrogating who we are as the museum & museum workers. And we want to think more critically about who it is exactly that we’re speaking to.
Museums can no longer assume that their audiences (and their critics) are all straight, white, male, and college educated people.
To be more conscientious museum workers, we must always question our intentions, ask if we are the right person to lead a project or initiative, and give space to those with different perspectives.”
